Duties

This position requires working with and reporting to the Board of Governors and is responsible for financial management including accounts receivable; accounts payable; payroll; tax receipts; financial reports; bank reconciliations; monthly remittances; HST; day-to-day banking; hiring, overseeing, and training staff.  Other duties include completing all staffing reports, maintaining employee time-sheets, leave records, sourcing funding programs, writing and submitting funding proposals, managing donor databases, donor newsletters, completing government reports and overseeing day-to-day operations of the Interpretation Centre, Statue, Monument grounds and other related duties.  This position requires extensive use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have knowledge of and experience in administrative processes.  He/she must have experience in computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Email.  Experience working with a not for profit organization is a must.  The incumbent must possess effective organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, along with the ability to work independently and establish and maintain effective working relationships.  He/she should have exceptional leadership skills and experience in successful project management, have the ability to multi-task and problem solve.  The ideal candidate should have experience using social media platforms (ex: Facebook, Twitter, You Tube).
